It is now middle of August 2011 and the project has finally reached completion.It has been a fantastic journey to bring to life once again an iconic piano that is a Steinway.Over the years I have rebuilt many pianos,some of them Steinways but this one was special due to its age and the connection with a once famous concert pianist.
During the next few weeks I will be playing it in and making adjustments as I find them also the pedal assembly still needs more work to make it work flawlessly but now I have reached the finishing line and it is a great feeling.I will post up some sound clips in due course.
....Would I do it again? (Slight pause)..."of course I would...its what I do".
